Terms of Service
These terms cover how you use fontjohn.com(the "Service"), operated by Sesohq. By signing in you agree to them. If you don't, don't use the Service.
1. Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You're responsible for keeping that account secure.
One person per account. Don't share login credentials.
You must be at least 13. If you're between 13 and 18, a legal guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.
2. What you can do with generated fonts
You own them. Every font you generate on Fontjohn is yours to use — personal work, client work, products you sell, brand identity, app interfaces, anything.
Commercial license included. No royalties, no per-impression fees, no watermark.
Resale of the raw .otf is allowedas long as you're selling your own derivative work, not bundling hundreds of our generated files into a font pack and reselling them as a marketplace.
No claim of authorship over Fontjohn itself. You can't claim Fontjohn is your tool, but you can say a font "was generated with the help of AI" or simply ship it under your own font name.
3. What you can't do with the Service
Generate fonts that infringe someone else's typeface copyright, trademark, or trade dress (e.g. straight ripoffs of proprietary commercial fonts).
Use prompts or references that contain illegal content, personal data without consent, or material designed to deceive (deepfake handwriting, forged signatures, etc.).
Abuse the API. Auto-mass-regeneration scripts that bypass quotas get accounts suspended.
Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract our prompts, model weights, or vector pipeline.
4. Plans, payments, refunds
Free, Pro, and Studio tiers. Each tier has monthly quotas for fonts, and Pro and Studio also for character regens and Latin expansions. The free plan includes the .otf download of its monthly font. Pro and Studio add more fonts, character regens, Latin expansion, weights, and the .ttf, web and color font exports. Font packs top up a paid plan.
Paid plans renew monthly or annually until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal.
Refunds.If you cancel during a billing period, you keep access until the period ends — no pro-rated refunds. If something goes wrong on our end (failed generation, broken export), email us within 7 days and we'll refund the affected credits.
Unused fonts and Latin expansions do notroll over. Unused character regens roll over while your paid subscription is active, up to twice your plan's monthly regens. Rolled-over regens end as soon as you cancel, a payment fails, or you move to the free plan.
5. Service availability
We aim for high availability but we don't promise uptime. We use Vercel + Supabase + OpenAI; their outages may cause ours.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice.
Color fonts keep the generated colors only in apps that support color fonts (for example Apple apps, Safari and Adobe apps); elsewhere they show the black outlines. Accented letters added by Latin expansion are built from your font's own letters.
6. Termination
You can delete your account anytime by emailing fontjohnapp@gmail.com.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, use the Service for abuse, or charge back without contact.
7. Disclaimers + liability
The Service is provided "as-is." AI generation is inherently unpredictable — a glyph may render with artifacts, kerning may need manual fixing, and not every prompt produces a usable result. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sesohq isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
